Effective date / last revision of the source policy: 10 October 2026.
1. Who we are
Sahitya Sanjeevani offers a shared digital platform for Hindi writers, poets, readers and lovers of literature. It encourages publishing, reading, literary dialogue, competitions, author profiles, e-books and related activities.
We respect members’ privacy, personal information and digital security. This policy explains information that may be collected, its purposes, circumstances of sharing and your rights. Please read it before using the website or registering.
2. Information we may collect
Personal and registration information: name, username, mobile number, email address, password, the four-digit password-recovery PIN and an optional profile photograph.
Author-profile information: literary name, biography, published works, achievements, profile image and other information voluntarily supplied.
Literary activity: poems, stories, articles, short stories, reviews, comments, replies, likes, loves, follows, reports, shares, competition entries and e-book uploads.
Technical information: IP address, browser, device type, login details, visit times and necessary logs for operation, security and performance.
Contact and subscription information: contact-form messages and an email address voluntarily given for news or updates.
We aim to collect personal information only where genuinely needed for the stated purposes.
3. How information is used
Information may support registration and login, author profiles, publication, comments and discussion, competitions, e-book services and technical support.
It may also help prevent unauthorised access, identify spam, investigate complaints and improve performance and user experience.
With consent or another applicable lawful basis, literary activities, new works, competitions and important announcements may be communicated by email or other available channels. Users can contact us to withdraw consent to promotional messages or stop them.
4. Public and private information
Published works, displayed author names, profile photos, public biographies, comments and some literary activities may be visible to readers. Some of this information may also appear in search engines.
Passwords, recovery PINs and other private authentication details are not intended for public display. Mobile numbers, email addresses and other personal details should generally not be made public unless users themselves publish them or explicitly share them for a particular feature.
Please do not include information in works, profiles or comments that you do not wish to make public.
5. Rewards, UPI and QR codes
Ordinary membership, reading and ordinary participation are free. Writers may voluntarily provide a UPI ID, associated mobile number or receiving QR code for appreciation or reward payments.
These details help willing readers or well-wishers send voluntary appreciation directly to the writer. Payment details displayed publicly can be viewed and used by others; writers should supply them with that understanding.
Direct payments are subject to the relevant bank, UPI or payment provider’s terms. Do not share your UPI PIN, OTP, banking password or other confidential banking credentials with the website or anyone else.
If an optional paid service is introduced, its charges, payment process and data use will be explained separately.
6. Works, images, videos and e-books
Original rights remain with the writer or lawful rightsholder. The website provides digital presentation, literary discussion and connections between writers and readers.
Publishing grants the permissions needed for display, normal technical storage, necessary format conversion and available sharing features, subject to the Terms & Conditions.
Text, images, covers, introductions and other material submitted for e-books may be used to provide that service.
Public works and private drafts should be treated differently. Unpublished drafts will not be made public contrary to their designated privacy settings.
7. Comments and social interaction
Comments, replies, likes, loves, follows, shares, rewards and reports may be associated with the member’s account. Public comments and authors’ replies can be visible to other users.
Inappropriate, insulting, misleading, infringing or rule-breaking content may be reviewed. Where necessary, content may be removed or the account restricted.
8. Cookies and technical identifiers
Cookies or similar technologies may maintain logins, improve security, remember preferences and operate essential features. Cookies are small digital files stored by a website in your browser.
If analytics, advertising or external-service technologies are enabled, they may use cookies, IP addresses or other identifiers for their own stated purposes.
Browser settings can control cookies, but disabling essential cookies may affect login or other features. Where applicable law requires consent, appropriate consent arrangements will be provided before non-essential cookies are used.
9. Google AdSense and advertising privacy
The website may use Google AdSense or other advertising services in future. When enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or other technical identifiers, subject to applicable settings and consent, to deliver ads, measure their usefulness, prevent fraud and produce reports.
Third-party advertisers may place or read browser cookies. Where permitted, Google may use interests and relevant signals to display ads. Users can manage their Google advertising preferences.
Information about Google’s use of data is available at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and advertising settings are available at https://myadcenter.google.com/ . If AdSense is implemented, appropriate technical arrangements will be made to comply with its current privacy and consent requirements. Where local law requires it, appropriate consent arrangements will apply to personalised advertisements and non-essential identifiers.
10. YouTube and external services
Embedded YouTube videos, live streams and other external services may collect technical information when users interact with them, under those services’ own privacy policies.
Google and YouTube privacy information is available at https://policies.google.com/privacy . Links to booksellers, social media and other sites are also governed by those sites’ own privacy and data-use terms.
11. Email, WhatsApp and notifications
With a user’s consent, updates about literary news, competitions, responses to their works or other activities may be sent by email or available permitted messaging services.
External messaging services such as WhatsApp also apply their own privacy policies. Promotional messages will offer an opt-out. Security, account and essential service messages may be treated separately.
12. Sharing information
Information may be shared as necessary with technical providers, including hosting, email, security, authorised payment services and other relevant providers, to deliver services, maintain security or fulfil legal obligations.
Disclosure may be made as required by a valid legal order, regulatory process or applicable law. Public content can be viewed or shared by others.
Before using or sharing personal information for unrelated purposes, appropriate notice and an opportunity to consent will be provided where required.
13. Security
We value the protection of personal information. Appropriate measures should reduce unauthorised access, misuse, unnecessary disclosure and technical risks, including secure authentication, restricted administrative access, updated software and necessary monitoring.
No internet system can guarantee complete security. Please promptly report suspected unauthorised account use or data-security concerns to the administration.
14. Children and minors
We encourage literary interest and creativity. Processing personal information of people under eighteen is subject to applicable law and parental-consent requirements.
Minors’ information should be handled with special care. Membership or collection of data may be restricted where required verified parental consent is unavailable. Parents can contact the website about a minor’s information.
15. Retention
Personal information will be retained only as long as needed for the service, legitimate administration, security, complaints or legal obligations.
Closure or deletion requests will be handled by deleting, anonymising or retaining relevant data according to applicable law and legitimate retention needs. Some information may remain for a limited period in backups, legal records or for other lawful reasons.
Removing public content does not guarantee immediate removal of previously made copies, shared screenshots or search-engine caches.
16. Your rights
Subject to applicable law and available facilities, users may request information about their personal data, correction of inaccuracies, withdrawal of consent, deletion of unnecessary data and review of privacy complaints.
Withdrawing consent may affect services that require the data. Appropriate identity verification may be required to prevent disclosure of someone else’s information. Requests and complaints can be sent through Contact Us.
17. Administration and complaints
The website is operated by Sahitya Sanjeevani’s authorised administration. Use the website’s Contact Us page for privacy, accounts, personal information or misuse concerns.
Privacy complaints and requests will be reviewed and appropriate action taken under applicable requirements.
18. Policy changes
The policy may be amended as features, technical arrangements, legal requirements or privacy practices change. Revised policies and update dates will be published. Where necessary, additional notice or an opportunity to consent will be provided.
19. User acknowledgement
This policy is provided so users understand how personal data is handled. Where specific consent is required, general use of the website does not replace it; appropriate consent will be obtained separately.
Our aim is to uphold members’ trust, privacy and digital rights alongside literature. Sahitya Sanjeevani — a shared literary platform for words, ideas, sensitivity and trust.
